CAMP: "A cornucopia of frivolity, incongruity, theatricality, and humour." "A deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love." "The lie that tells the truth." "Ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical; effeminate or homosexual; pertaining to or characteristic of homosexuals."
Aww, hello, Joe <3
ReplyDeleteWho could ever forget Twiggy, here in the states they couldn't believe how thin she was and her ostrich eyes. The voluptuous looks of Monroe and Mansfield giving way to Twiggy was quite a change in the 1960s, the world-wide 'youth-quake' took hold. -Rj
ReplyDeletePeople these days underestimate quite how influential she was. Jx
