CAMP: "A cornucopia of frivolity, incongruity, theatricality, and humour." "A deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love." "The lie that tells the truth." "Ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical; effeminate or homosexual; pertaining to or characteristic of homosexuals."

As styled here, she is like a psychedelic reincarnation of Dame Edith Sitwell and quite entirely fabulous - an interesting variation on her usual New-York-Lady-on-Acid styling, but it most definitely works.
ReplyDeleteHaha! - "a psychedelic reincarnation of Dame Edith Sitwell". I love your mastery of the language, my dear! Jx
DeleteI adore Iris! I did a post on her once after meeting her in our 59th street store once while she was shopping with our personal stylist. She is quite the gem and her everyday fashion is quite eclectic, oversized baubles, and her signiture glasses. I even did a house and garden tour of her townhouse which was a equal treat to see! She is amazing for her age I say!
ReplyDeleteInevitably, I have also featured Iris before here. You can never have enough, I feel. I do feel a pang of jealousy that you have met the maven in the flesh! Jx
DeleteShe's a living work of art!
ReplyDeleteAren't we all? It just that some of us are Pollocks. Jx
