CAMP: "A cornucopia of frivolity, incongruity, theatricality, and humour." "A deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love." "The lie that tells the truth." "Ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical; effeminate or homosexual; pertaining to or characteristic of homosexuals."

On the garden fair
And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
[From The Sensitive Plant by Percy Bysshe Shelley]

I have snowdrops and crocus flowers blooming! daffys and hyacinths are pushing their way up from the mud that is my back yard. the birdies are singing in the morning. and I am about to start sneezing with spring allergies!
ReplyDeleteOur snowdrops, dwarf irises and crocuses came and went (althought I have seen crocuses still in flower around the area), but our daffs, tulips and chionodoxa are ablaze, and the lilies and dahlias are sprouting already... Jx
