CAMP: "A cornucopia of frivolity, incongruity, theatricality, and humour." "A deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love." "The lie that tells the truth." "Ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical; effeminate or homosexual; pertaining to or characteristic of homosexuals."
The name in the weather vane sums it up nicely 'Justamere Camp'. Oh and the 'floozie' on the left. You could polish diamonds on its' face. The best of social realism. I'm sure I've run across this crowd somewhere. Rgds. An admirer from afar.
I'm pining for summer and it's not even over yet! And that artwork above is very interesting and a bit creepy.

ReplyDeleteRoll on Spring.
I wish. The grimmest time of year is fast approaching... At least we have Spain to look forward to in the New Year. Jx

Cadmus was always an "amused observer" of society at its most extreme. And most camp! Jx

ReplyDelete*d'Anjou
I've never been to Fire Island, but I think you'd be sadly disappointed trying to find a scene like that in Brighton. Jx
