HATS!!! Yes - hats are preferable on the head than disembodied hands, though the ones featured here are actually a little disturbing, especially the upturned shoe. I have been considering taking up wearing a simple Bowler in homage to Rene Magritte.

ReplyDeleteAccording to the V&A the shoe hat of 1937-38 was made in collaboration with Salvador Dali and derives from a 1933 photograph of Dali wearing a woman's shoe on his head.
She and Dali were great, long-time collaborators. Jx
