...like this weekend's birthday girl, the fabulous Brigitte Helm!

If any living person could have been described as "Art Deco", it was her.
Brigitte Helm (17th March 1906 – 11th June 1996)
CAMP: "A cornucopia of frivolity, incongruity, theatricality, and humour." "A deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love." "The lie that tells the truth." "Ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical; effeminate or homosexual; pertaining to or characteristic of homosexuals."
FABULOUS!!!!! Unfortunately I have no baubles, bangles, beads , plumes or feathers on today.

Never say never, dearie! There's always room for a bauble or several. Jx
DeleteIt's the chick from Metropolis (1927)! Love her!
ReplyDeleteI love Art Deco! It's my fave architecture style! But, wow, Brigitte Helm really is a living Art Deco masterpiece! Extraordinary expressions and what spectacular movements!
If she's not busy, could you please ask her to come stalk around my front porch? Her predatory stalking can help me get rid of the vermin. The nice weather has brought out an infestation of door to door missionaries bugging me at home.
I can imagine she'd scare the shit out of the Jehova's Witnesses! Jx
