...like the divine Miss Debbie Reynolds, who would have been 90 years old today!
She was fab...
CAMP: "A cornucopia of frivolity, incongruity, theatricality, and humour." "A deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love." "The lie that tells the truth." "Ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical; effeminate or homosexual; pertaining to or characteristic of homosexuals."
A approve of Miss Reynolds pratical attire for cleaning her kitchen in the second photo. I put on something similar myself when I do mine.
ReplyDeleteIt's remarkable how much dust can be cleared by swinging a white fox stole around... Jx
DeleteHave never seen that number before. Quite the revelation. Must track it down. She was a hoot. I adored her in Mother and What's The Matter With Helen? among so many others. (Not The UNTHINKABLE Molly Brown, though.) I also adored Shirley MacLaine portraying her in Postcards From The Edge. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteI never saw Postcards from the Edge, except for clips on YouTube, more's the pity - but I do remember liking The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and she was good in How the West Was Won, and Singin' In The Rain, of course. Jx
DeleteHave always thought of her as more of a tomboy than a glamour puss.
ReplyDeleteand it always lovely to Russ Tamblyn in tight trousers.
Mr Tamblyn was a proper little "Tigger", wasn't he? Always leaping about the place... Not so cute these days, understandably. Jx
