  3. I remember when there were lots of businesses that looked like photo #1, leading down to a basement level with subway tiles. I must be nearing my expiration date.

  4. Remember when you could smoke... in a bar? Sigh. I know, I know... but it was... well, an all the sad young men kind of thing, now wasn't it?

    1. Smoking in pubs was practically compulsory! I remember the first few weeks after the ban, how desolate it was inside bars as the only punters indoors were the non-smokers minding the coats. And suddenly, there was that smell - a combination of filthy pub carpets and the urinals - everywhere! Jx
