CAMP: "A cornucopia of frivolity, incongruity, theatricality, and humour." "A deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love." "The lie that tells the truth." "Ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical; effeminate or homosexual; pertaining to or characteristic of homosexuals."
Ever spiteful Miss Ross, terrible to her song mates Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson:( Florence was outspoken so she had to go, Mary suffered in silence only to be dispatched as well. The re-grouped Supremes had several hits despite Miss Ross. Miss Ross, songbird and vulture, what a combination :)
There aren't many people from that era (apart from her husband, the Boss, Berry Gordy) who had a good word to say about her behaviour. The post-Diana Supremes had some excellent hits, so she wasn't the only thing that mattered. Jx
One could slide right off that gown!
ReplyDeleteIndeed - not sure if it's satin, PVC or gelatin... Jx
DeleteLove her voice, her music was apart of the soundtrack of my life.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame she wasn't a nice person and was so beastly to the other 'Supremes'.
I get the impression she has been a cow to a helluva lot of people in her time... Jx
