The difference is the intensity with which we choose to live

"Glamour is when a man knows a woman is a woman."

“Sophia Loren plays peasants. I play ladies.”

"I am very spoiled. All my life, I've had too many admirers."

"We are all born to die - the difference is the intensity with which we choose to live."

“I want to leave a souvenir of my life.”

RIP, the utterly stunning Signorina Gina Lollobrigida (4th July 1927 – 16th January 2023)

  3. Every time I saw her, the words VA VA VOOM came to mind. And as much as I love my other Patron Saint,Sofia Costanza Brigida Villani Scicolone or, Ms. Sophia Loren, I dare say Gina Lollobrigida was more beautiful.

When I was a wee gayling I had what I called my "beauty circle" of women I adored and just enthralled me. It contained Cyd Charrise, Ann Miller, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida, Leslie Caron, Dame Shirley Bassey, And Ursula Andress. The circle has skank considerably.

    1. Quite the list - and at least Signorina Loren, Dame Shirl, Mademoiselle Caron and Miss Andress are still with us. However, time is ticking for all our Patron Saints, dear. Just as well we look good in black. Clink, clink, sweetie! Jx

  4. Such a goddess. To view the world through her veiled eyes. Effortless glamour. Natural style. She saw the world and knew she deserved more. Kizzes.

    1. "Effortless glamour" really does sum her up. No matter how forgettable the movie, no matter how big the co-star, all eyes were always on her! Jx

  5. Gina had much finer features than Sophia, so she's quite correct with her quotation comparing the two.

    1. I agree - Sophia was sexy, but seemed to be someone you could have a laugh with in a pub, while Gina would be the stunning one who would "make an entrance" and just be gawped at by everyone in the room. Jx

  6. Sad news and suddenly the world has a little less Glamour in it than it did.
Now lets go down the pub with Sophia.
