CAMP: "A cornucopia of frivolity, incongruity, theatricality, and humour." "A deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love." "The lie that tells the truth." "Ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical; effeminate or homosexual; pertaining to or characteristic of homosexuals."
Yes, I love this film too, and we have chatted about it before. What I can't remember is which scene this is - is he about to electrocute someone whilst pretending to be a hair stylist??? Sx
I've never seen him look so young before! I need to find this movie you mention to Ms Scarlet. I think I would look good in that outfit. I like the shirt! No fro for me though.
Lovely bloke in real life apparently and very supportive of his gay daughter. Swung both ways himself. I love his radio version of The Saint, and Aliens in the Blood, the radio series he starred in with Peter Cushing based on an idea by Robert Holmes (legendary dr who writer)
He's about to do something truly horrible, isn't he?!

It's Vincent Price! He never played a nice, cosy character in his entire career 😈 Jx
DeletePS if you've not seen Theatre of Blood, I highly recommend it - one of my all-time fave films!

Indeed - Coral Browne (his future wife) was about to get a shampoo-and-set like no other! Jx

ReplyDeleteYou'll find plenty of "style tips" from Theatre of Blood, Melanie... Jx

ReplyDeleteI think both he and Ms Browne swung both ways - that's probably why it worked. Jx
DeleteFab film.
ReplyDeleteHe and Coral Browne must have made an interesting couple.
Imagine the house parties! I would have killed to get on the guest list... Jx
